My Story

Legacy. I've been thinking about that word a lot lately. I come from a long line of women poets and writers who wrote about their faith. My great, great grandmother was even a published hymn writer. Of course, back then her hymns were published under her husband's name. We sure have come a long way since then. I'm also blessed to have many of the poems, songs, and other writings of my Grandma Carr. She was truly a natural at writing. For the last few years I've tried to carry on the legacy of writing poetry and using this gift from God to the best of my ability.

I also love stories.  Stories are powerful. So many of the truths in the New Testament of the Bible are found in the stories of the Old Testament. Great reading material from God Himself. I have to confess that I also like murder mysteries, or really any kind of mystery. I have ever since I was a little girl reading the entire Bobbsey Twins series, the entire Nancy Drew series, and I won't even try to name all of the mystery series I read growing up. (For several years we lived across the street from the library.)  I've always wanted to write my own stories, and I've had the fictional setting in my head for years. It's called The Gathering Place, and eventually it will make it's debut right here.

I live in Michigan with my husband, two young adult children and two cats. I love modernized mid century modern decor and architecture.  I also sew, a skill my mother taught me. I had a small craft business for a few years that my daughter helped me run when she was in middle school. She's very talented in crafting things and also in business. Check out her website Ashley Dylan and Ashley Dylan on facebook. In our craft business I sold handmade pot holders among other things, but the pot holders were my best seller. Those will be coming back soon on a limited basis.

I pray that the peace of God will fill your hearts, and that you live in His favor and blessing each and every day!
